Richard Ellerbeck was born about 1668 at Little Ouseburn, Yorks (about 12 miles north of Tadcaster) to John Ellerbeck and Mrs John Ellerbeck.
He married Sarah Wrightson 16 June 1687 at Little Ouseburn.
In 1715 his mother was buried at Tadcaster and Richard was described as of Sma[w]s Hall.
Sarah Ellerbeck, wife of Richard, was buried at Tadcaster 10 September 1723.
He was buried 7 June 1740 at Newton (up)on Ouse (about 4 miles east of Little Ouseburn).
Richard and Sarah’s children were:
1. John, baptised 25 June 1688 at Little Ouseburn.
2. Richard, baptised 26 May 1690 at Little Ouseburn. He married Catherine Daniell 29 June 1715 at Newton Kyme.
3. Sarah, baptised 30 July 1692 at Little Ouseburn.
4. John, baptised 8 October 1693 at Little Ouseburn.
5. George, baptised 2 May 1694 at Little Ouseburn.
6. Joseph, baptised 23 May 1698 at Little Ouseburn.
7. William, baptised 9 April 1700 at Little Ouseburn. He contested his brother Emanuel’s will (document dated 4 July 1766). He may have been buried at Tadcaster 20 August 1772.
8. Abol, born and baptised 26 May 1702 at Little Ouseburn.
9. Benjamin, baptised 13 February 1705 at Little Ouseburn.
10. Emanuel, baptised 14 October 1707 at Little Ouseburn.
