Alfred Pettit (1863 - ) of Wickhambrook

Alfred Pettit was baptised 18 October 1863 at Wickhambrook, a son of George Pettit and Mary formerly Bye.

 

In the 1871 census of Baxters Green, Wickhambrook, he was living with his parents, aged 7 scholar, all born at Wickhambrook.

In the 1881 census of Tuffields Farm, Whepstead, he was aged 17, a shepherd, born at Wickhambrook.  With him were his nephews, Herbert and Robert Pettit, (sons of John Pettit).  Hubbard (sic) Pettitt was the head aged 15, a farm bailiff, born at Hargrave and his brother, Robert Pettitt, was aged 14, born at Hargrave  With them were Mary A. Stilt aged 62, an unmarried housekeeper, born at Barrow, and Fredrick Miton aged 16 a farm labourer born at Steeple Bumstead.

 

In the 1891 census of Baxters Green, Wickhambrook, he was at home with his parents and brother Charles, aged 28 an employed ag. lab.  All were born at Wickhambrook.

 

In the 1901 census he was living at Baxters Green with his brother Charles, in two rooms.  He was single and aged 38, an agricultural worker, born at Wickhambrook.
