Samuel
Osborne (1794 – 1826)
Samuel was
baptised at Nowton, Suffolk, in 1794, a son of Thomas Osborne and Elizabeth.
He married,
after banns, Mary Burrell (one of the daughters of James and Hannah Burrell,
other daughters were Sophia and Ann) 23 January 1820 at St Martin in the
Fields, Westminster. They were bachelor
and spinster, both of the parish. The
witnesses were Richard Finch and Elizabeth Ball.
Samuel was a
stable keeper of Guilford Mews, Guilford Street, London. Guilford Mews is at 87 (Great) Guilford
Street, halfway between Grenville Street and Lansdown
Place (now called Lansdown Terrace).
His will was
dated 7 February 1826 and proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, by his
brother Henry Osborn,
gentleman of Grays Inn Lane, 30 June 1826.
He mentions his parents, Thomas and Elizabeth Osborn, his sister Elizabeth Lee, John Osborn the younger and
Maria Osborn the children of his brother John
Osborn, the children of his brother Thomas, Ann Burrell and Sophia Burrell
the sisters his wife, and their parents, James and Hannah Burrell, his dear
wife Mary and the children of his brother Henry, his sole executor. Samuel appears to have had no children.
He was buried
at Nowton, aged 32, 26 May 1826, although his abode
at death was given as Nowton.
