I am very grateful to Hedley Martin and Colin Hatton for the information on this page.
Thomas was baptised 19 February 1574/5 at Dullingham, Cambs., a son of Thomas Leader and Catherine formerly Rannowe.
He married Prudence Lumkyn, 3 October 1605 at Dullingham.
Thomas was buried 18 April 1624 at Dullingham, Cambs (his decease was a little before the date of his father-in-law's will of 1626 where he was described as 'lately deceased').
His will (VC 26:161 1624 CW) was dated 9 November 1622. He was a husbandman of Dullingham. His executrix was his wife, Prudence, who would decide where to bury his body. To Prudence he left his house and grounds at Dullingham and all the other houses and all freehold and copyhold arable lands; and the copyhold pasture called Ballons at Dullingham Ley. He left three acres of freehold land to Anne his daughter. To his eldest son John, after his wife's decease, he left the mansion house and other houses and the croft of land adjoining, and 3 acres of arable land in three pieces, one at Market Cross, one acre at Barn Lodge held under the manor of Dullinham and 3 roods of freehold towards Abington. To his daughter Anne he left three pieces of freehold arable land, one a headland of 5 roods and one of three roods in Coplowefield and one of one acre in the '18 acre field', to be hers immeately after his decease. To his son Thomas, he left 2 pieces of arable land at Toft, in all six acres, held by Prudence under the manor of Stetchworth. To his youngest son Henry, he left Ballons, after Prudence's death. The residue was left to his wife, Prudence whom he appointed his executrix. {Some of the will was illegible and so there are no witnesses.)
