The Family of Ishmael Cutter (1761/2 – 1844)

He was baptised 18 January 1761/2 at Little Abington, a son of Ishmael Cutter and Ann formerly Andrews.

He married Amey Hammond (baptised 29 July 1764 at Hadstock) 26 February 1782 at Hadstock, Essex. 

 

Ishmael was buried 11 October 1844 at Hadstock, Essex. 

 

Amy was buried 21 October 1852 at Hadstock.

Susanna, baptised 13 October 1782 at Hadstock.  She married William Aggiss (possibly born/baptised 17 April 1781 at Hadleigh, Suffolk, a son of Samuel Aggiss and Sarah Strutt) 23 October 1807 at Upminster.  Susanna and William's children were

Thomas, born 1808 and died 1881.

Jane, born 1811, married twice.

Ann, born 1812 and died 1812.

Anne, born 1813 and died 1884.

William, born 1815 and died 1819.

Samuel, born 1817 and died 1818.

Susannah, born 1817 and died 1817.

Thomas, baptised 19 June 1785 at Hadstock.  He married Hannah Wright (baptised 29 April 1792 at Hadstock and buried 25 (154) September 1841) 24 October 1809 at Hadstock.

Kitty, baptised 4 November 1810 at Hadstock.

John (1812 - 1856), baptised 26 July 1812 at Hadstock.  He was a labourer.  He married first Mary Sargent (born about 1818) 15 September 1837 at Hadstock.  Mary died at Linton Union and was buried 13 December 1842 at Hadstock.  He married secondly Sarah Webb (born about 1815 at Helions Bumpstead, Essex), 28 April 1843 at Castle Camps.  John was buried 14 July 1856 at Hadstock. 

John and Mary's children were

Lucy Elizabeth (1838 - 1856), born 23 August 1838 and baptised 21 October 1838 at Linton.  She was buried 3 January 1856 at Linton.

Harriet Priscilla, born 27 December 1839 and baptised 30 August 1840 at Linton.

John and Sarah's children were

Eliza, baptised 5 December 1848 at Hadstock.  She married Stephen Fordham (an agricultural labourer, born about 1848 at Hadstock) 14 February 1869 at Hadstock.  Eliza and John's children were

George, born about 1875 at Hadstock.

Harriet, born about 1879 at Hadstock.

William (1851 - 1894), born 1851(?) and baptised 18 September 1853 at Hadstock.  He was a labourer.  He married Elizabeth Fordham (baptised 5 May 1850 at Hadstock) 2 August 1874 at Hadstock.  He was buried 23 April 1894 at Hadstock, aged 43.

Susan (1853 - 1911), born 1853 at Hadstock and buried 8 February 1911 at Hadstock.

John (1857 - 1926), baptised 22 March 1857 at Hadstock.  He married Sarah E. Bush (born about 1852 at Hadstock) 1 January 1877 at Hadstock.  He was buried 25 February 1926 at Hadstock. 

John and Sarah's children were

Walter, born 1877 at Hadstock.  He was a railway ticket collector.  He married Sarah (born about 1876 in Germany).  Walter and Sarah's child was

Sall, baptised 4 December (4 September) 1796 at Hadstock.  She married (? banns were called but the marriage may not have taken place) James Saywell in 1814.  Sall and James's children (surnamed Saywell) were

Ishmael (1798 - 1879), baptised 22 (or 23) December 1798 at Hadstock.  He was a labourer.  He (bachelor of Hadstock) married Sarah Farrow, at Linton 31 December 1819 (witnesses John Cutter and James Glasscock).  Sarah was buried 28 September 1843 (or 8 January 1863 at Hadstock).  Ishmael was buried 10 May 1879 at Hadstock.  Their children (not in IGI) were

Susan, baptised 29 July 1821 at Hadstock.  She married Henry Kent, a bricklayer, at Hadstock 8 July 1842.  In 1881, at 'Norfolk County bordering on the town of Harleston' at Mendham, Suffolk, Susan was a widow, a charwoman aged 59 and born at Hadstock.  With her was her unmarried daughter Mary Ann, aged 19 and born at Starston, Norfolk.  Susan and Henry's children were:

William, born 1846 or 1847 at Hadstock.  He was an agricultural labourer.  He married Elizabeth Blowers (born about 1844 at Roydon, Suffolk) in 1869 in the Depwade district.

Charles Burton (Cutter) (1849 - 1885), baptised 10 December 1849 at Hadstock.  He married Eliza Cottage (born about 1847 at Linton) 15 September 1867 at Linton. 

In 1871, at Mill Lane, Linton (next in the schedule to Charles and Emma Ellis at Camping Close - see James Flack or Gibson (1815 - 1898), Charles was aged 24 an agricultural labourer born at Hadstock, Essex.  Eliza was aged 24 and born at Linton.  Their children were James, aged 3 and Emma aged 1, both born at Linton.  Also with them was, James Kidman, widower and grandfather, aged 76, a bricklayer, born at Linton.

In 1881. at Cottage in the Meadows, Grantchester, Charles was aged 32, an agricultural labourer born at Hadstock.  His wife, Emma was aged 33 and born at Linton.  Their children were James aged 13, George aged 9, both born at Linton, Alfred aged 6, Edith aged 5, Charles Burton aged 3 and Mary aged 6 weeks, all born at Grantchester.

Charles was buried 2 February 1885 at Grantchester.  He was an agricultural labourer.  Charles and Eliza's children were

James, baptised 29 December 1867 at Linton.

Emma (1869 - 1873), baptised 28 November 1869 at Linton and was buried 29 September 1873 at Grantchester.

Harry George, baptised 25 February 1872 at Linton.

Alfred, baptised 5 April 1874 at Grantchester.

Edith, baptised 26 March 1876 at Grantchester.  She married Harry Graveling (born about 1873 at Chesterton) 1900.  He was a bricklayer.  Edith and Harry's child was
