She was born 13 June 1851 at Ironville (labourer), Derbys., the daughter of Joseph Baines and Sarah formerly Elliott. Sarah (X) registered the birth.
She first married William West between 1871 and 1875. A marriage has yet to be located. With William West she had a child, Albert Edward West, who was born 7 August 1875 at 37 Maltravers Road, Sheffield. Presumably William West died (though his death has not been found in the GRO indexes between 1875 and 1880) and Elizabeth returned to her parents house for she had a daughter Agnes Ellen West, born 15 September 1878 at 16 Furnace Row, Ironville (father’s name not given). She married secondly George Johnson, at the Birchwood Chapel, Somercoates, Derbys., on 31 October 1880. She died 7 July 1915 at 15 Ferham Park Avenue, Masbrough, Rotherham and was buried 10 July 1915 at St Thomas's Kimberworth, aged 66 years.
