The Family of Lucy Schofield formerly Vollans

I am very grateful to Patricia Burke for information on this family.

 

She was born about 1881 at Brampton Bierlow (registered in the June quarter 1881).  She was baptised 15 June 1881, a daughter of Joseph Vollans and Hannah (formerly Jackson). 

 

In 1891 she was at home with her parents, aged 10 and born at Brampton Bierlow.

 

In 1901, in Ecclesall Bierlow, she was aged 20, a servant in the household of Annie Yeomans, aged 50.

 

She married in the December quarter 1901, to Frederick Schofield.

 

In 1911, at 26 Park Road, Wath-on-Dearne, near Rotherham, Lucy Schofield was aged 28 and married for 9 years, occupation ‘house duties’ and born at Newhill (where the Vollans family were living in 1881) with her husband Frederick aged 35, an assurance agent, born Mapplewell, Yorks and son Frederick Milton aged 8, born at Newhill and Winifred Mary aged 5, born at Newhill.

 

Lucy and Frederick’s children were

Frederick Milton Schofield, born about 1902 at Newhill.

Winifred Mary Schofield, born about 1905 at Newhill.  She may have married a Harrison in the December quarter 1928 or a Robinson in the September quarter 1932 both in the Rotherham district.
