The Family of Edward Vollans (1774 - )

He was born 1774 at Brayton (Thorpe Willoughby), to William Vollans.  He married Susan Meggit 18 April 1797 at Eastrington.  

 

Their children were

Hannah, born 1798 at Eastrington.

Ann, born 1799.

William, born 1801 at Howden.

George, born 1808 at Howden.  He married Miriam Page 2 February 1829 in Sculcoates.  George and Miriam apparently emigrated to Canada.  George and Miriam's children were

Thomas, born 29 November 1829 at Prescott, Ontario.  He married Jane Ratcliffe 1858.  He died 17 November 1912 at Ontario.  Thomas and Jane's children were

Frank R.

Minnie.  She married Peter MacDonald 8 February 1888 at Windsor, Ontario.

Amelia, born 1862.  She married Alexander McDowell.

Herbert Page, born 1864 and died 12 January 1919.

Cora, born 1868.  She married William Smith.

Thomas Ernest, born 1870.

William Westley, born in 1831.  He married Martha.  He died 8 June 1888 at Detroit.  William and Martha's children were

George, born 1858 at Sandwich, Ontario.  He married Sarah Braun 1 October 1879.

John Edward, born 10 December 1859.  He married Cyrene Hyde 20 October 1891 at Windsor, Ontario.  He died 12 February 1906.

Edward Page, born 1833 at Sandusky, Ohio.  He married Adelia Taylor.  He died 22 November 1884 at Windsor, Ontario.  Edward and Adelia's children were

Lillian.  She married H.B. Clavenger.

Ada, born 8 January 1864.  She married first Frank Thorpe 16 April 1883 and secondly Albert Fox 28 May 1907.  She died 9 November 1953.

Bert Howard, born 1866 and died 1927.

Frederick, born 1868.

Eva, born 1870.

Mary Ann, born 1838 at Sandwich, Ontario.  She married John Gunn 23 January 1862.  In 1881, at Sandwich West, Essex, Ontario, John was aged 45, a farmer, English but born in the USA.  Mary was aged 45 and their children were Charles aged 18, Jessie aged 17, Ida aged 15, Mirian aged 12, Annie aged 10, Jasper aged 8, John aged 6 and George aged 4.  All were born in Ontario except John, and were English and Church of England.  Mary Ann died 1896.  John and Mary Ann's children were

Charles, born about 1862 in Ontario.

Jessie, born about 1863 in Ontario.

Ida, born about 1865 in Ontario.

Mirian, born about 1868 in Ontario.

Annie, born about 1870 in Ontario.

Jasper, born about 1872 in Ontario.

John, born about 1874 in Ontario.

George, born about 1876 in Ontario.

Isaac, born 27 April 1840 at Sandwich, Ontario.  He married Elizabeth Herdman.  In 1881, at Sandwich West, Essex, Ontario, he was aged 41, a farmer.  Elisa (sic) was aged 35 and Scottish.  Their children were Henry aged 13, James aged 11, Minnie aged 9, Bertha (male, sic) aged 5, Louis aged 3 and Maud aged less than 1, born Feb 2/12.  They were all English apart from Elisa, born in Ontario and Episcopalian.  With the was Henry Rounding aged 43 a farm labourer, English and born in England, and Church of England.  Isaac died 24 December 1918 at Sandwich Ontario.  Isaac and Elizabeth's children were

Herbert, born 1875 and died 1949.

Louis, born 5 April 1878 and died 1956 at Sandwich, Ontario.

Maude, born 2 or 12? February 1881 in Ontario.

Lottie, born 1883.  She married Joseph Edwards.

Hannah, born in 1842.  She married George Gray.  In 1881, at Sandwich West, Essex, Ontario, George was aged 42, born in England and a farmer.  Hannah was aged 39 and born in Ontario.  John B. was aged 10 and George W. was aged 8 and both were born in Ontario.  George and Hannah's children were

John B., born about 1870 in Ontario.

George W., born about 1872 in Ontario.

Samuel (1846 - 1924), born 26 July 1846 at Sandwich, Ontario.  He married Mary Ann Herdman.  In 1881, at Sandwich West, Essex, Ontario, Samuel was aged 36 and a farmer.  Mary Ann, his wife, was Scottish and aged 32.  Their children were Bella aged 12, Charles aged 10, Robert aged 8, Frank aged 5 and Rose aged 2.  They were all English, except Mary Ann, and Church of England and born in Ontario.  With them were Daniel Fields aged 25 a labourer, Sam Quickan aged 26 a labourer and Elisabeth Hollingworth aged 22 a servant.  They were all English, Church of England and born in Ontario.  .Samuel died in 1924.  Samuel and Mary Ann's children were

Elizabeth Belle, born 1 January 1869.  She married William Shaw.  She died in 1925.

Charles D., born 25 July 1871 and died 1938.

Robert, born 15 July 1873.  He married Ruby Adams.  He died 1937.

Frank, born 4 July 1876 and died 30 March 1949.

?Fred, born 10 June 1878?.

Rose, born 29 July 1879.

George, born 20 April 1883 and died 1959.

Miriam, born 6 April 1886.  She married Joseph Thomas Banwell 14 October 1908.

Herbert, born 13 October 1892 at Sandwich, Ontario.  He died 18 June 1985 at Windsor, Ontario.

Barbara Harriet, born in 1847.  She married Alexander O'Neil 27 February 1868.  In 1881, at Sandwich East, Essex, Ontario, Alex was Irish, aged 37, and a farmer.  His wife, Barbary, and their children were English.  Barbary was aged 34 and their children were George aged 12, Frank aged 10, Harry aged 8, Maggey aged 6, Fred aged 4 and Lionel aged 2.  All the family were born in Ontario and were Church of England.  With them were John Neit aged 23, a farm labourer and Ettie Tailos aged 15 a servant.  They were both Church of England and born in Ontario.

Amy Jane, born 1855 at Sandwich, Ontario.  She married James Holden 4 April 1877.  She died 4 June 1912 at Windsor, Ontario.
