She was born about 1851 at Hersham and registered in the June quarter 1852 in the Chertsey district. She was baptised 16 May 1852 at Hersham. Her father was Caleb Searle and her mother was Elizabeth formerly Fory.
She married Henry Plumbridge in the Chertsey district in the September quarter 1872.
In the census of 1881, at 3 Albert Road, Kingston on Thames, Clara A Plumbridge was aged 29 and born at Hersham, Henry, her husband, was aged 32, a carman labourer in removing furniture and born at Walton. Their children were Clara E aged 6, born at Hersham and Rosa J. Aged 4 and born at Norbiton, Surrey.
The family was found in the New York passenger lists. They left England from London on board the ship ‘France’ and arrived in New York 3 April 1884. The adults in the family were Harry Plumbridge, Clara, Nelly, Clara aged 10, Rosa aged 6 and an infant. The previous family were of George and Eliza Smithers.
In the 1891 census index, in Kingston, Clara A was aged 39, Henry was aged 42, Clara E. was aged 16, Rose G. was aged 14, Harry G.O. was aged 8 and Magge N was aged 6.
They appear not to be in the 1901 census.
In the 1911 census index, in Kingston, Henry was aged 62 and Clara was aged 59.
Her death as Clara A. Plumbridge was registered in the Kingston district in the December quarter 1925. She was aged 73.
Henry and Clara’s children were:
a) Clara Elizabeth Plumbridge, birth registered in the Chertsey district in the September quarter 1874. She was baptised 20 September 1874 at Hersham.
b) Rosa Jane Plumbridge, birth registered in the Kingston district in the December quarter 1876.
