The Family of Ann Searle

Ann was born about 1835 at Shepperton, a daughter of Caleb Searle and Elizabeth.

In 1861 she was living with her parents at Hersham Green, Hersham, aged 35 (?), a laundress, born at Shepperton.

In 1871 she was living at Hersham, unmarried, aged 35, a laundress, born at Shepperton, Middx. With her were her children Gertrude, aged 13, Cornelius aged 11, a farm boy, Annie aged 8, Frank aged 3 and Arthur aged 1, all born at Hersham.

Ann's illegitimate children were:

1. Gertrude, baptised 24 January 1858, Hersham.
2. Cornelius A, baptised 29 April 1860, Hersham. In the 1901 census index he was aged 41, a foreman office telegraph, born at Hersham. Also in East Grinstead was probably his wife, Fanny, aged 34 and born at Nutbourne, Sussex. There appeared to be no children with them.
3. Annie, born 2 May 1862 at Hersham. She was baptised 20 September 1863, Hersham.
4. Frank, born about 1867, Hersham.
5. Arthur, born about 1869, Hersham.
