The Family of Richard Peters

He was born 12 June 1809 and baptised 30 July 1809 at Linton, a son of William Peters and Sarah formerly Fordham.

He married Rebecca Biggs at Linton, 8 June 1832.

In 1841, at Stony Street, Linton, he was aged 30-34, an agricultural labourer.  With him was Rebecca aged 25-29, John aged 8, Sarah aged 7, Mary aged 2.  All were born in the county.  There was also (Richard's father) William aged 70-74 and not born in the county.

 

In 1851, at Mill Lane, Linton, Richard was aged 41, a farm labourer.  With him were his wife, Rebecca, aged 37 and their children John aged 18 a farm labourer, Mary Ann aged 12, Richard aged 8 and Henry aged 2.  All were born at Linton.

 

In 1861, at Green Lane, Linton, Richard was aged 50, an agricultural labourer.  With him were his wife, Rebecca, aged 48 and their children Richard aged 17 an agricultural labourer and Henry aged 12 an agricultural labourer.  All were born at Linton.

 

Richard and Rebecca's children were:

John Biggs Peters, born 20 November 1832 and baptised 25 December 1832 at Linton.

Sarah Peters, baptised 5 May 1834 at Linton.

Marianne Peters, baptised 28 July 1839 at Linton.

Richard Peters, born 30 August 1843 and baptised 26 September 1843 at Linton.

Henry Peters, born about 1848 at Linton.  In 1881, at Wrights Rookery, No 7, Linton, Henry was aged 33, an agricultural labourer, born at Linton.  With him were his wife, Jane, aged 34, a laundress, born at Linton and their daughter Sarah, aged 11, a general domestic born at Saffron Walden.
