Sarah
Osborn (1820 – 1890)
Sarah was born
13 January 1820 and baptised 19 January 1820 at St Andrew Holborn, a daughter of
Henry Osborn (Grays Inn Terrace, stable keeper) and
Elizabeth.
It is probable
that she did not marry.
In the various
censuses she is found as follows:
In 1851, Sarah
Osborne was living with her aunt and uncle, Elizabeth
and William Lee at Sicclesmere. She was unmarried, aged 30 and born in London
Middx. She was
supported by her uncle (sic, but probably her father) Middlesex.
In 1861, Sarah
Osborne was living with her aunt and uncle, Elizabeth and William Lee at Hawstead Lane , Great Whelnetham. She was
unmarried, aged 39, an imbecile and born at Grays Inn, Holborn.
In 1871, Sarah
Osborne was living with her aunt and uncle, Elizabeth and William Lee at
Cottage, Great Whelnetham, probably Sicklesmere. She was
unmarried, aged 50 and born in Grays Inn, London.
In 1881,
(Transcript), she was a lodger with Elizabeth Lee (her aunt) in Hawstead Lane, Great Whelnetham,
Suffolk. Sarah Osborne was aged 57 and
single and born in London, Middx.
It seems she
continued to live in Great Whelnetham since there is
the burial of Sarah Osbourne 20 April 1890 at Great Whelnetham. She was
aged 70.
