Isabella Kerton was baptised 2 June 1797 (daughter of Richard, Kirkby).
She married William Ewbank 13 October 1819 after banns. They were both of the parish. The witnesses were Timothy Bonwell and John Kerton.
In the 1841 census of Wreaks Brigg, Birstwith, William Ewbank was aged 50, a stone mason with Isabella aged 40, Samuel aged ? a stone mason, Ann aged 15 a Cotton ? (lab?), Sarah aged 13 a Cotton ? (lab?), Maria aged 10 a Cotton ? (lab?), Mary aged 9, Jane aged 5 and John aged 2. All were born in the county except William.
In 1851, at Wreaks Village, Birstwith, William Ewbank was aged 64, a stone mason born at Stainburn, Westmorland. With him were Isabella his wife, aged 54 a stone mason’s wife born at Kirkby Malzeard, and his children Samuel aged 39 a stone mason, Maria Miller aged 21 a cotton spinner, Mary aged 19 a cotton rover, Jane aged 14 a cotton spinner and John aged 12. All the children were unmarried and born at Birstwith.
William died 13 June 1856 at Thornthwaite.
In 1861 at Wreaks Bridge, Birstwith, Isabella was a widow aged 65 and born at Kirkby Malzeard with her step-son Samuel aged 49 a stone mason born at Clint and her son John aged 23 a stone mason born at Birstwith.
Isabella died in 1870 at Kirkby Malzeard. However she was not buried there and there is a death registration for Isabella Ewbank in the Pately Bridge district (includes Birstwith and Thornthwaite) in the December quarter 1870. She was aged 75.

Robert Ewbank, baptised 25 June 1820 (s of William and Isabella, mason of Kirkby Malzeard).
Ann Ewbank, born about 1822 at Birstwith. She married
Joseph Powell 18 January 1843 (registered March quarter 1843 in the
Knaresborough district, includes Birstwith).
Sarah Ewbank, born July 1825 at Hampsthwaite. She married
James Walker.
Maria Ewbank (1828 – 1828), born 2 September 1828 at Hampsthwaite
and died September 1828.
Maria Ewbank, born about September 1829 at Hampsthwaite. She married
George Milner.
Mary Ewbank, baptised 12 February 18321 (d of William and Isabella, mason of Birstwith). She married Thomas Machan.
Jane Ewbank, born about January 1836 at Hampsthwaite.
John Ewbank, born 4 September 1838 at Birstwith
and died 5 February 1895. He married Mary ?. There is a marriage registration for a
John Ewbank and Mary Jane Kirk in the York district
and the December quarter 1867 but this seems unlikely.
In 1881 he was living at Station Road, Birstwith,
a stone mason, aged 42 and born at Birstwith. With him was his wife, Mary, aged 39 and
born at Hemsworth and his children William aged 14, a farm servant, John aged
9, Robert aged 7, Emma Maria aged 5 and Charles Harry aged 3. All were born at Birstwith.
