The Family of Ann Fordham of Wickhambrook

I am very grateful to Judy Marsh for some of the information on this page.

On 18 January 1774, John Rutter, late of Wickhambrook but then in Bury Gaol, yeoman, was bound in the sum of £50 to pay 1s a week to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the parish of Wickhambrook, for the maintenance of a female bastard child born to Ann Fordham.

Ann Fordham’s children appear to be:

Mary, baptised at Wickhambrook, 6 May 1770.  She married Jeremiah Jolly at Wickhambrook, 23 January 1793 and was buried at Barrow, 23 March 1846.

Ann, baptised at Wickhambrook, 23 April 1773.  Her father appears to be John Rutter.

John, baptised at Wickhambrook, 20 December 1775.

Sarah, baptised at Wickhambrook, 22 February 1778.

Martha, baptised at Wickhambrook, 23 April 1780.
