The Family of Elizabeth Ellerbeck (1787 – ) of Newton Kyme and Tadcaster

Elizabeth Ellerbeck was born 27 March 1787 and baptised 22 April 1787 at Newton Kyme, a daughter of Thomas Ellerbeck, cordwainer and Elizabeth his wife.

 

In 1841, in Back Lane, Tadcaster West, she was aged 50-54 and with John Ellerbeck and Charlotte.

 

In 1851, in the High Street, Tadcaster West, Elizabeth was, unmarried, aged 64, a laundress, born at Toulston, Yorks (a hamlet about 3 miles west of Tadcaster).  With her was her nephew, William [son of Charlotte] aged 7 and born at Tadcaster. 

 

Elizabeth’s children were

Hannah Ellerbeck (1810 – 1810), born about March 1810 (age at death) and buried 16 October 1810 in the churchyard at Tadcaster.  She died 15 October 1810 aged 7 months, a daughter of Elizabeth, spinster, of hooping cough.

Abraham Hornshaw Ellerbeck, baptised 28 March 1813 at Tadcaster, son of Elizabeth Ellerbeck of Tadcaster, spinster.  He may have been buried at Thorpe Hesley (north-west outskirts of Rotherham) 10 May 1854, aged 41.  Living at Wentworth, Rotherham, (close to Thorpe Hesley) in 1851 (Census index) were Ann Ellerbek aged 42, Richard aged 10 and Elizabeth aged 8.  A Richard Pillow Elerback was baptised 2 May 1841 at St Mary the Virgin Barnsley, son of Abraham and Ann Elerback.  In the March quarter 1840 in the Sheffield district, Abraham Ellerbeck married Ann Pilley.

Mary Ellerbeck (1819 – 1819), baptised 21 February 1819 at Tadcaster, daughter of Elizabeth Ellerbeck of Tadcaster, spinster.  She was buried aged 9 months at Tadcaster 21 November 1819.

Mary Ellerbeck, baptised 28 September 1823 at Tadcaster, daughter of Elizabeth Ellerbeck of Tadcaster, spinster.  In 1841 she was aged 15-19, a female servant at Stutton in the household of Mary Todd aged 15-19, a farmer.
