The Family of Elizabeth Stephenson formerly Ellerbeck (1765 –) of Newton Kyme cum Toulston and Bramham

She was baptised 9 July 1765 at Newton Kyme, a daughter of Richard Ellerbeck.

 

She may have been a witness at the marriage of her brother Thomas, 6 March 1787.

 

She, a spinster, married Frederick Stephenson, a bachelor, a rider, 25 October 1787 at Newton Kyme by licence in the presence of John Turner and Sarah Potter.

 

Elizabeth Stephenson, wife of Frederick Stephenson of Tadcaster was left 1 shilling under the will of her father dated 30 May 1789.

 

Elizabeth and Frederick’s children were:

Betty Stephenson, born 29 January 1794 and baptised 6 April 1794 at Bramham, a daughter of Elizabeth Ellerbeck and Frederick Stephenson.

Frederick Stephenson (1795 – 1871), born 4 June 1795 and baptised 15 November 1795 at Bramham, a son of Elizabeth Ellerbeck and Frederick Stephenson.  In 1861, as Fred aged 65 and born at Bramham, he was living in the parish of Bowling.  In 1871 (Index) he was a boarder at Bowling, aged 76 and born at Bramham.  He, a saddler of Bowling Old Lane, Bradford, became bankrupt 5 February 1862 and his application for his discharge was heard on 22 April 1862.  His death was registered in the Bradford district (includes Bowling) in the June quarter 1871, aged 76.

Elizabeth Stephenson, born 28 November 1797 and baptised 20 February 1798 at Bramham, a daughter of Frederick Stephenson and ... Ellerbeck.

Jane Stephenson, born 26 November 1799 and baptised 25 February 1800 at Bramham, a daughter of Frederick Stephenson and Elizabeth Ellerbech.
