The Family of Annie Freer formerly Ellerbeck (1874 – 1939) of Tadcaster and Leeds

Annie Ellerbeck was born 1874 at Bilbrough, and registered in the Tadcaster district in the December quarter 1874 (9c 774), a daughter of Thomas Ellerbeck and Anne formerly Dickinson.

In 1881 she was living at home, aged 6 and born at Bilbrough.

In 1891, in High Street, Tadcaster West, Annie was a general servant domestic aged 16 and born at Tadcaster, in the household of Robert Pickersgill, a brewer, born in Killinghall, Yorks.

Annie's marriage was registered in the Tadcaster district in the March quarter (16 February, aged 23, father Thomas) 1898 (9c 999), to William Freer (aged 22, father Thomas Freer).

In 1901, at Spring Hill, East Tadcaster, William Frier was aged 26, a brewer’s cooper born at Tadcaster.  His wife was Annie aged 26 and born at Bilbrough.  Their child was Anie aged 9 months and born at Tadcaster.

In 1911, at 37 East Parade, Ilkley, in 6 rooms, Annie Freer, was aged 36 and born in Tadcaster.  With her was William Freer, aged 34, a cooper at a brewery.  They had been married for 13 years and had had 5 children none of whom had died.  Their children were Annie aged 10, Hilda aged 8, Herbert aged 6, and Margret aged 3, all born in Tadcaster and Thomas Mason Freer aged 3 months, born in Ilkley.

The family seems to have moved to Leeds as there are events registered there that probably relate to this family.

William’s death was probably registered in the June quarter 1916 in the Leeds district aged 39.

Annie’s death was probably registered in the Leeds district in the September quarter 1939, aged 64.

Annie and William’s children were:

Ledger in the Leeds district in the September quarter 1926.  Her death was probably registered in the September quarter 1964 in the Leeds district aged 64.  They appear to have had no children.
