The Family of Ralph Dalton (1710? – 1788?) of Tockwith in the parish of Bilton in Ainsty, and York

Ralph Dalton married Ann Blackburn, daughter of  - Blackburn of Church Garforth, collier.  Church Garforth seems to be Garforth, east of Leeds.

 

Ralph Dalton married Ann Blackburn 29 November 1756 at Bilton Ansty, York.

 

In the poll for the city of York for 1758 was a Ralph Dalton, cordwainer, living at Tockwith, (a village close to Bilton, and a township formerly under Bilton).

 

An Ann Dalton was buried in 1769 at Bilton in Ainsty.

 

A Ralph Dalton was married to Elizabeth Penrose, 17 December 1770, after banns, at Bilton Ainsty.

 

Ralph Dalton was described as ‘shoemaker of York’ in the baptisms of certain children of Thomas and Elizabeth Ellerbeck.

 

There is a burial of a Ralph Dalton in 1788 at Holy Trinity, Micklegate, York with a year of birth of 1710.

 

There is also a burial of an Elizabeth Dalton in 1788 at Holy Trinity, Micklegate, York with a year of birth of 1718.

 

Ralph and Ann’s children were:

1.      Hannah Dalton, baptised 15 May 1757 at Bilton Ansty, a daughter of Ralph and Ann.

2.      Richard Dalton (1759 – 1759), baptised 7 April 1759 at Bilton Ansty, a son of Ralph and Ann, and ‘died’ 17 June 1759.

3.      Sarah Dalton, baptised 11 May 1760 at Bilton Ansty, a daughter of Ralph and Ann.

4.      Mary Dalton, baptised 8 February 1762 at Bilton Ansty, a daughter of Ralph and Ann.

5.      Ann Dalton, baptised 2 December 1764 at Bilton Ansty, a daughter of Ralph and Ann.

6.      Betty Dalton, baptised 8 April 1767 at Bilton Ansty, a daughter of Ralph.  She married Thomas Ellerbeck.
