He married Rebecca Linsdell (born about 1833 at West Wratting and baptised 11 June 1835 at West Wratting) 14 November 1856 at Little Abington.
In the 1861 census, at Little Abington, he was aged 28, a shepherd, born at Little Abington with his wife Rebecca, aged 27 born at West Wratting and children Ellen aged 3 and Amelia aged 1, both born at Little Abington.
In 1871, at Grange Road, Little Abington, Ishmael was aged 38, a shepherd born at Little Abington. His wife, Rebecca, was aged 38 and born at West Wratting. Their children were Amelia aged 11, Henry J. aged 7 and Alice aged 4, all born at Little Abington.
In 1881, at Reed Farm Cottage, Babraham, Ishmael was a widower aged 48, a shepherd, born at Little Abington. His children were Henry J. aged 17, an agricultural labourer and Alice aged 14, both born at Little Abington.
In 1891, in 4 rooms at Stetchworth, Ishmael was aged 59 a widower and shepherd (employee) and with his single children, Henry aged 27 a shepherd (employee) and Alice aged 24, all born at Little Abington.
In the 1901 census at Hall Farm Cottages, Stetchworth, Ishmael was a shepherd and a widower aged 67, born at Abington. With him was his son and daughter in law, Henry J aged 36, a shepherd born at Abington and Mary Ann aged 40 and born at Stetchworth, and his two grandchildren Henry J.A. aged 6 and Ethel M. aged 7 both born in Stetchworth.
There is a likely death entry for Ishmael in the GRO index in the Newmarket district, June quarter 1907 (3b 28). He was aged 76.

Oslar (a farmer of 500 acres, aged 58) she was a domestic servant, single and aged 23 and born at Little Abington. She married Henry W. Wallis 1885 at Stetchworth.
Amelia Cutter, born 1860 and baptised 8 April 1860 at Little Abington. In 1881 at The Hall, Babraham, she was single and a housemaid aged 28 (?) born at Abington, Cambs. She married Thomas Finch 1887 at Stetchworth.
Henry John Cutter, born 1863 and baptised 20 September 1863 at Little Abington. He married Mary Alice Ison (born about 1860 at Stetchworth) 1892 at Stetchworth. Henry and Mary's children were

Henry J.A. Cutter, born 1894 at Stetchworth.
