She was baptised 6 August 1874 at Little Abington, a daughter of William Cutter and Caroline formerly Flack.
In 1881 she was at home.
In 1891, at 24 Fitzwilliam Street, Cambridge (St Mary the Less), Bertha was aged 16, a servant, an endernurse (?), born at Little Abington.
She married George Hills 23 September 1899 and stayed at Babraham.
In the 1901 census of Buck Row Cottages, Babraham, George Hills (sic) was 28 and a storekeeper on farm, born at Great Abington. His wife, Bertha Emily was aged 27 and their son George William was aged 4 months and born at Babraham.
In 1911, in 4 rooms at Babraham, Bertha Emily Hills was aged 37, born at Little Abington. With her were George aged 39, a horse keeper on farm (worker) and born at Great Abington. They had been married for 11 years and had had 6 children, all of whom were living. These were George William aged 10, Alfred aged 8, Arthur aged 7, Frank aged 5, Ernest aged 3 and Bertha Emily Maud aged 9 months. All were born at Babraham except Arthur who was born at Little Abington.
In the 1939 register, at 22 Red Roof Chalk Hill, South Cambs. RD, as Bertha E. Hill (sic), with George A. Hill, date of birth 15 January 1874 and a farm labourer and Bertha E.M. Hill later Holden, date of birth 4 July 1910 a supervisor envelope de(pot?). Her date of birth was found to be 4 July 1874, unpaid domestic duties.
A possible death registration for George Hills is in the Cambridge district (Linton was abolished in 1935) in the December quarter 1940 aged 69.
A probable death registration for Bertha E. Hill (sic) is in the Cambridge district (includes Babraham) in the March quarter 1963. She was aged 88.

Alfred Hills, baptised 20 January 1903 at Babraham. He was a horsekeeper and married Ethel Maud Rivers (born about 1900) 25 October 1924 at Babraham.

Frank Hills, baptised 13 May 1906 at Babraham.
Ernest Hills, baptised 22 March 1908 at Babraham.
