The family of Mary Ann Hearn formerly Branton

She was known in the family as Polly. She was probably born in 1857 at Hoo Green or Kettleburgh (though she appears always a little younger in the censuses) and baptised 28 June 1857 at Kettleburgh, Suffolk, a daughter of John Branton and Sarah formerly Starks.

In the 1861 census of Hoo, Suffolk, she was at home with her parents, aged 3 and born at Easton.

In 1871 she was not at home with her parents.

In 1881, at No 1 Ellerdale C Park Wimbledon, she was a general domestic, aged 23, born at Hoo Green, Suffolk, a servant in the household of Richard Dale, a master brassfounder employing 50 men.

She married Chenery Hearn in the Kingston district in the September quarter 1883.

In 1901 she was living with her father at Milbourne Lane, Esher, aged 42, born at Kittlebrough, Suffolk with her husband, Chenery Hearn, aged 51, a general labourer, born at Debenham, Suffolk.
