Elsie Elizabeth Asbery was born on 28 June 1888 at 22, Kimberworth Road, Masbrough, Rotherham, a daughter of John Asbery and Hannah Elizabeth formerly Vollans. In the 1891 census she was aged 2 and living with her parents at 38 Kimberworth Road. In the 1901 census she was aged 12 and living with her parents at 36, Kimberworth Road. She married George Winfield William Johnson at Kimberworth Parish Church on 21 January 1909 and died 6 January 1958 at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. She is buried with her husband in the churchyard of St. John the Evangelist, Newbold, Chesterfield.
