Mary Ann was born 11 January 1799 and baptised 3 February 1799 at Ramsgate Chapel, a daughter of Thomas Wyborn and Mary formerly Castle.
In 1824 she was running a toyshop with her sister Anne at her father's home, 7 Harbour Street, Ramsgate.
She married Daniel Hinds 10 December 1828 at St George, Ramsgate by licence (dated 10 December 1828) on 17 December 1828. They were both of Ramsgate and the witnesses were Thomas Wyborn and Elizabeth Jarman.
In 1861 Mary A. Hinds was living at 6 Mount Pleasant, Ramsgate. She was aged 61 and born at Ramsgate. Her husband, Daniel Hinds, was aged 55, a ship builder and born at Ramsgate. Their two unmarried daughters were Sarah A. aged 23 and Mary A. aged 22, and their son was John aged 20 an apprentice, all were born in Ramsgate. There was also a general servant.
In the census of 1871, of 56 Royal Road, Ramsgate, Mary Hinds was a widow, aged 70, whose income was from dividends. She was born in Ramsgate. With her was Julia Gibbins, aged 29, an unmarried servant, born at Minster.
In the 1881 census she (as Mary Hinds) was a lodger in the lodging house of Bertha Price, High Street, Minster in Thanet, a widow aged 81, an annuitant and born in Ramsgate.
Her death, as Mary Ann Hinds, was registered in the Thanet district, in the June quarter of 1881. She was aged 81.
