In the 1861 census he (as Edward G.) was at home with his parents, aged 2 and born at Warfield, Berks.
In the 1871
census, he was at home
with his parents, aged 12 and born in Berkshire.
In the 1881 census, at 192 Portobello Road, London, he was a boarder, aged 22, an assistant and born in Berkshire, in the household of Charles W. Lee, a manager of a grocery store, born in Cradley, Worcs. 192 Portobello Road is not far from Notting Hill, Kensington. This identification is consistent with Edward’s occupation on his death certificate.
He was a witness at Walter's marriage at St George's, Kensington, 19 May 1886.
Edward Guley Turner died 18 April 1889 at 10 Forest Hill Road, Honor Oak, Camberwell. He was a provisions merchant, aged 30. He died of ‘phthisis pulmonalis’ or tuberculosis (6 months). His brother, W.C. Turner, of 67 Lexham Gardens, Kensington registered the death.
Administration of Edward’s estate was granted to Walter
Charles Turner, of 35 Campden
Street, brother and one of the next of kin, at the Principal Registry, 4 July
1889. Edward, of 10 Forest Hill Road, , Surrey, was a grocer and bachelor.
