She was born 4 August 1808, at Jevington, and baptised 18 September 1808 at Independent Non-Conformist Chapel, Heathfield (as Phillis, daughter of Joseph and Phebe Seamour).
She married Henry Thomas at Willingdon, after banns, 19 November 1833. The witnesses were Joseph Seymour, Elizabeth Rippington, J.N. Dumbrill and M. Dumbrill.
In the census of 1861, living at Wannock, Folkington, Phillis was aged 52 and born in Jevington. Her husband, Henry, was a master miller employing 3 men and born at Bexhill. Their daughter was Mary Ann, unmarried, aged 22 and born at Folkington. There were three servants.
In 1871, at Uckfield, Phillis was aged 62 and born at Jevington. Henry was aged 61 a retired farmer and miller, born at Bexhill. There was a female general domestic servant.
Phillis' death was registered in the March quarter 1879 in the Uckfield district (2b 77). She was aged 70.
In the census of 1881 Henry Thomas was a widower, aged 71 and living with his daughter, Mary Ann and son-in-law, Edmund John Senden, at High Street, Uckfield. He was a retired miller, born in Bexhill.
