Charlotte Manser formerly Seymour

Charlotte was born about 1800 at Hellingly.

In 1841 she was in the household of William Banks and Mary [formerly Seymour, Charlotte's cousin], at Grays Inn Lane Terrace, Holborn, London. She was aged 35 and her occupation was given as a female servant. Charlotte was not born in Middlesex.

She married James Manser in the June quarter 1841, in the registration district of Newington.

In 1861, at Tutts Green, Willingdon, Charlotte was aged 60 and born at Hellingly. Her husband James, was aged 53, a farmer of 47 acres, employing 1 man and 1 boy, and born at Wilmington (sic). There was also a house servant, Ellen Douch, aged 14 and born at Westham, Sussex.

In 1871, at Foul Ride, Willingdon, she was aged 70, and born at Willingdon (unlikely). James was aged 62, a market gardener and born at Willingdon.

In the census of 1881 she was living at Willingdon, aged 80 and born at Hellingly. James Manser was aged 72, a retired farmer, born at Willingdon. With them were James' nieces Mary A. Bridgeman, a widow of a publican, aged 50, and born at Willingdon, and Louisa Silvester, aged 50 the wife of a music seller, born in London, Middlesex.

Charlotte's death was registered in the June quarter 1885 in the Eastbourne district (2b 37). She was 85.

James Manser's death was registered in the December quarter 1890 in the Eastbourne district (2b 47). He was 82.
