Zebulan was a son of William Searle.
He married Frances Hawkins in the Windsor district in the June quarter 1838.
In the census of 1861 he was living at 6 North Avenue, Clerkenwell. He was aged 43, a whitesmith and born at Chertsey. His wife was Frances, aged 41 and born at Egham. Their children were William aged 19, Elizabeth aged 13, Walter aged 10, Charlotte aged 8 and George aged 3, all born in Bloomsbury.
