She was born 19 January 1854 and baptised 26 February 1854 at St Andrew Holborn, a daughter of Thomas Robinson and Theophila formerly Banks.
She married Robert Low in the Islington district in the June quarter 1876 (1b 424).
In 1881 they were living at 16 Gordon Street, London. She was aged 27 and born in Barnesbury and her husband, Robert, was aged 44, a surveyor and born in St Georges, London. Their daughters were Ethel M aged 3 and Kathleen R aged 1, both born in St Pancras. There were four servants.
In the 1901 census they were living at Fairfield, Brighton Road, Sutton, Surrey. Ellen was aged 47 (born at Barnesbury) and Robert, 64, a retired auctioneer, born at London St Georges. With them were their daughters Ethel M., single, aged 23 born at St Pancras and Kathleen R. single, aged 21 and born at St Pancras. There was also Robert's unmarried sister Eliza A. H. Low, aged 58, living on own means, and born in St Georges London and two servants.
