She was born 18 August 1866 and baptised 16 September 1866 at Travancord, Tamil Nadu, India, a daughter of Alexander Johnson and Hannah formerly Stevenson.
In the census of 1871, in Nottingham Road, Kimberly, Notts., Agnes was at home with her parents, aged 4 and born in the East Indies (sic).
In the 1881 census, as a scholar, in a girls boarding school, run by Margaret Brown at Clapton House, Clapton Road, London, was an Agnes Johnson aged 14, born in India.
In 1891, at 33

N(eil) Causton, a clerk in
holy orders (vicar of St Matthew, Croydon), Agnes was single, aged 24, a
governess (occupation teacher) born at Allepi,
Travancore, South India.
In 1901, the same (?) Agnes Johnson was found as an unmarried visitor, aged 34, born at Travancore, India in the household of unmarried Elizabeth Hookey, aged 57 at 27 Lee Terrace, Lewisham.
In 1911 as a visitor at 14 Lancaster Road, Wimbledon, Surrey, she was aged 43, a private secretary and born in India and was a British Citizen by parentage. She was visiting Mrs Mary Gollock, a widow with private means, aged 77 and born in Dublin. There were 4 servants in the household.
Agnes appears to have been the informant of the death of her aunt (1 August 1938), Rebecca Johnson, on 2 August 1938. She was living at 10 The College, Northfleet, Kent. This was Huggens College; almshouses established by John Huggens of Sittingbourne in 1847, ‘to provide residences for elderly ladies and gentlemen of reduced means’. She was admitted 11 January 1932 (nominated by Lord Harris, trustee 1927 – 1976). She started ‘The College Quarterly’ in 1936 with two others, and she died 24 March 1956. She certainly had a flair for journalism and it is obvious that she was the driving force behind the publication, for it ceased when she died. The same Agnes, spinster, was granted the administration of Rebecca’s estate (London, 14 October 1938).

UD, Agnes Johnson was single, a private secretary retired and with a date of
birth of 18 August 1866.
Agnes died at Stoneycrest Nursing Home, Hindhead, Surrey (by 2004 it had become The Crest House Nursing Home, Churt Road, Hindhead, GU26 6PS). She was aged 89, a spinster and retired commercial secretary, of 10 The College, Northfleet, the daughter of – Johnson, Vicar of Falford (sic), Lincs (deceased). She died of 1a carcinomatosis and 1b carcinoma of rectum. The informant was K Haxbey Kendle, causing the body to be cremated, 8 Nutcombe Height, Hindhead, Surrey.
