The Family of Louisa Sarah Paget formerly Eastland

Louisa Sarah Eastland was born 3 November 1842 and baptised 8 January 1843 at Christ Church, Hoxton. She was a daughter of Charles Eastland and Amelia Banks.

In 1861 she was living at 1 Harpur Street, St George the Martyr, Finsbury with her brother, Charles.  She was unmarried, aged 18, a house keeper and born in Hoxton.

 

She has not been found in the 1871 census.

 

Louisa Sarah Eastland married Thomas Cumberland Paget in the Lambeth registration district in the September quarter 1872.

 

In 1881 (transcript) at Nursery, 35 High Street, Clapham, I (sic) C Paget was aged 45, a nurseryman employing 10 men and born in Scotland.  His wife, L.S. Paget, was aged 38, and born in Middlesex.  Thomas’s children were daughters F.E. aged 16 and born in Wales and G. aged 14 and born in Esher.  There was one servant.

Under the will of her uncle, William Banks, of 1885 she was to receive a bequest of £200.

In 1891, at 34 High Street, Clapham, Thomas C was aged 56 a nurseryman born in Scotland, and Louisa S was aged 48, a florist born at Hoxton.

 

In 1901, at North East Road, Sholing, Itchen, Hants, Louisa S. Paget was aged 57 and born at Hoxton.  With her was Thomas C. Paget, a florist born in Scotland and aged 64.  These were the only two members of the family.

 

Thomas Cumberland Paget’s death was registered in the district of Fareham in the December quarter 1903.  He was aged 67.

 

In the 1911 index, Louisa Sarah Paget, widow and boarder, and born in Hoxton, was living with the family of Frank Moodie at 10 Canada Road, Woolston, Itchen, Hants.

 

Louisa S. Paget’s death was registered in the district of South Stoneham in the September quarter 1912.  She was aged 69.  So far no children of Louisa have been discovered.
